Open mic with a focus on the Middle East
Welcome to the really first Open Mic of the Poetik Riots. We invite you to a convivial moment to share words that have remained in our guts for too long. Breaking away from news feeds, we see this evening with you as a moment of breathing where poetry feeds our lives and awake our souls.
The evening will be curated from the perspective of the Middle East Cultures and North Africa and will be driven by anti-racist, feminist, decolonial, queer, ecological and intersectional thinking*. The participants are welcome to recite their text in the language of their choice !
The performance will be accompanied by the amazing sound of DJ Tiiirrrred member of Hishek Bishek collective.
A coaching workshop will be organised beforehand on Saturday 18 February, if you are interested contact Luce > luce(at)looops.org
PRACTICAL INFORMATION

6.30pm : Doors and sign up for participants
7:30pm : Beginning of the performances
11:00pm : Doors close
• Free entrance : LIMITED CAPACITY. (50 people max). PLEASE RESERVE YOUR FREE TICKET ONLINE (send us an e-mail in case you change your mind).
• Bar and snacks on site
* Please come to us if you feel uncomfortable with something during the event.
** A box will be in circulation for your free contributions in support of the The Poetic Riots.

Open mic avec un accent sur le Moyen-Orient
Bienvenue au tout premier Open Mic des Poetik Riots. Nous vous invitons à un moment chaleureux pour partager des mots restés trop longtemps au fond de nos tripes. Rompant avec les fils d’actualité, nous envisageons cette soirée avec vous comme un moment de respiration où la poésie nourrit nos vies et réveillent nos âmes.
La soirée sera envisagée sous l’angle des cultures du Moyen-Orient et de l’Afrique du Nord et sera animée par une pensée antiraciste, féministe, décoloniale, queer, écologique et intersectionnelle*. Les participant·x·s sont invité·e·s à déclamer leurs textes dans la langue de leur choix !
La performance sera accompagnée par le son incroyable de DJ Tiiirrrred, membre du collectif Hishek Bishek.
